The sun was out today and it was a bit cool but not bad...
I decided to go take some pictures of this out building that I just noticed recently, despite driving past it about a million times....

Last night I had a really good time with some really good friends....then...there was the end of the night...
As I was running inside my foot caught the step of the porch and down I went....face bashed into the porch.
Yes...the porch is made of concrete....I'm in pain.

I was snooping around my house, because...why not?
Well, I found two super old brief cases, so of course I opened them up and found a ton of cylindrical phonograph records!
A lot of them are dated from the 1800s....I also know that we have a phonograph player, which means I'm going to have to figure out how to make it work...

The weather got nice for a few days so we opened up our door out to the screened in porch...
This is always a favorite time for our cats Forest and Lily
Lily seems a little more excited about it than Forest, but he likes to keep his cool..

Today, Claire, Amanda and I traveled to a place where I lived for 3 years and enjoyed pretty much every second of it....
We went to Charleston and to Eastern Illinois University because I had to get my transcript sent...and Claire and I told Amanda we would show her around EIU since she was thinking about going there...
We showed her around campus, Claire and I reminisced and it was a good day...
My picture is of my all time favorite place to study..I could often be found here during midterm week and finals week...
The reference room in the Library with its huge windows and old architecture...its where I absorbed most of my knowledge :)

Well, the time change has occurred and Spring has sprung, but not really..because its technically still winter, but whatever.
I spent some time in the park this evening with Tara, Mason and Kellan. I was originally going to put up another picture of the boys but, I decided to go with the sky....Fall sunsets are my favorite, but Spring/ish time is pretty good too..

This year, Claire and our neat-o friend Tara Huntley have started a sort of movie tradition. Claire and I drive to Edwardsville which is where Tara is from, we go eat at 54th Street Grill and then go see a movie.
So far we've seen The Black Swan, The Kings Speech, and tonight was The Adjustment Bureau.

Today I substitute taught English/Spanish at the school where I graduated from.
Sometimes its a bit weird, but this class was in the new section of the school, a section that was built 2 years after I was a mighty Vandal.
9th hour I took the kids to a teachers room who is in charge of the year book, it is also in the new section. I told the kids what they were supposed to do on the computers and sat down and started reading my book. Then I looked up...
And what was looking back at me was my 18 year old self in our class of 2002 picture.
Sometimes subbing at your old school can be kinda weird.
I'm located in the 2nd row, 2nd from the left...in a purple shirt...right where the glare is..ha.

Its March, which means St. Patrick's Day is approaching.
Growing up we always wore green to avoid getting pinched, but my Dad never did because as he said, "I'm not Irish". Leave it to a guy of German decent to not want to have fun ;)
But anyway, my Mom's ancestors were Irish so she really gets into the whole thing. Shamrocks, wearing green, corn beef and cabbage (gross).
She also likes to display this creepy little guy...

I went out and took some pictures again today, the weather was nice.
I found myself at the Depot...the bar where I first learned to really drink...
then it burnt down....

I was out and about today, taking advantage of the nice weather.
I took my camera out and headed down to the location of a greenhouse that burned down a few years ago. There was a barn full of stuff and this was one thing that I found.
The placement of the sticker made me giggle a bit...do we really need to stop the Baptists? And what do they have planned?!

A picture I previously posted, showed my two cats, Forest and Lily fighting each other.
Often times the house is full of the sounds of them chasing each other around the house, meowing, and hissing.
But then sometimes, they can be very cute, and I think that they really do love each other.

Today I caught a picture of the end of a Vandalia era.
The restaurant/bar Jay's was a fixture in the Vandalia community. I actually only ate there once, it was pretty good, but my mom got food poisioning..anyway...
I'm not sure why they closed it down and I'm not sure what is going to be put in its location but I know a lot of people really liked it.
