Today I took family pictures of the Strange family. The Strange family consist of 3 of my favorite people and a soon to be 4th. I pretty much consider them an extension of my family, and the pictures didn't turn out too bad!

I'm just a sucker for old barns.

August 6, 2011

I feel like a lot of the time, people go through their days being miserable and not trying to attempt to see the beauty in life.

On days like these, I really don't understand those people.

So I have really gotten into geocaching lately, and a lot of people have no idea what I'm talking about.

Well, according to my ol' friend, Wikipedia it is this...

Geocaching is an outdoor sporting activity in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or mobile device[2] and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", anywhere in the world. A typical cache is a small waterproof container containing a logbook where the geocacher enters the date they found it and signs it with their established code name. Larger containers such as plastic storage containers (tupperware or similar) or ammo boxes can also contain items for trading, usually toys or trinkets of little value. Geocaching is often described as a "game of high-tech hide and seek," sharing many aspects with benchmarking, trigpointing, orienteering, treasure-hunting, letterboxing, and waymarking.

Geocaches are currently placed in over 100 countries around the world and on all seven continents, including Antarctica.[3] After 10 years of activity there are over 1.3 million active geocaches published on various websites. There are over 5 million geocachers worldwide.

and to illustrate better the amount of these things are covering the planet...here you go.

This afternoon on my drive from work, I did some geocaching.

I was in a small cemetery and there were 2 of these sculptures which were the graves of 2 young men who died in WWI.

One of my favorite books is All Quiet on the Western Front, so I guess I was just drawn to this statue and looked at it for sometime.

" This book is intended neither as an accusation nor as a confession, but simply as an attempt to give an account of a generation that was destroyed by the war - even those of it who survived the shelling." - Erich Maria Remarque, All Quiet on the Western Front.

Lots of times, Geocaching leads you to some pretty cool stuff, like this old wooden bridge that is still drivable.

July 31, 2011

Driving back from Carmi, I stopped in Mill Shoals, this is a tiny little town and hardly any of the things shown on this mural are still there, but its a nice relic of how the town used to be.

July 30, 2011

I spent my day with one of my favorite people. My wonderful 4 year old Goddaughter, Sydney.

She's just so great, fun, and loveable. The age she is at now is so amazing...and she is so funny....

In a perfect world, I could spend every day with my little Geeg-o, but I just have to settle for the time that I get and make the most of it.

Love you Geegs!
