August 4, 2011

This afternoon on my drive from work, I did some geocaching.

I was in a small cemetery and there were 2 of these sculptures which were the graves of 2 young men who died in WWI.

One of my favorite books is All Quiet on the Western Front, so I guess I was just drawn to this statue and looked at it for sometime.

" This book is intended neither as an accusation nor as a confession, but simply as an attempt to give an account of a generation that was destroyed by the war - even those of it who survived the shelling." - Erich Maria Remarque, All Quiet on the Western Front.
